Dear Parents/ Guardians
We wish to welcome all new learners and parents who will be joining York Road Primary school in 2026. We trust you are well and eager to start your son/daughter’s academic journey with us.
The Grade R and Grade 1 2026 learners will attend school on Saturday, 22nd November 2025 as part of their official orientation. It is compulsory for all 2026 Grade R and Grade 1 learners to attend Orientation Day.
Learners may attend in casual wear. Two adults/parents per child are invited to attend the Orientation morning, which will commence at 09h00 and conclude at 10h30. Parents and learners are to be seated in the school hall by 08h30.

- School badge (for blazer pocket only) – R60
- 2nd Hand clothing shop will be open (Grade 1 only)

SCHOOL STATIONERY
Stationery orders may be placed on the day at the stationery display table. EFT as well as card facility will be available.
PARKING
Please do not park in front of the main access gate OR on the bend in Lower York Road. Limited parking will be available on the school premises and in all side streets. Please DO NOT park opposite our residents’ driveways and kindly observe ALL road rules.
ARRIVAL AT SCHOOL
Parents and learners are to access the school via the main entrance gate in Lower York Road. Our safety officer will direct you to the Barend Field parking area. Our staff members/mediators will escort you to the D.A. Pearson School Hall. Please be sure to check the class lists that will be displayed at the hall entrance. Parents are required to sign the attendance register before entering the seating area of the school hall.
