Final week of Term Three
We have reached the final week of an exceptionally busy Term Three.
With our register check on Friday, we’ve found that many learners had been marked absent. On investigation, many reports indicated that learners are absent without a valid reason with no communication made to the relevant educator nor the office.
Although the Test Week is now concluded, the following activities are still happening:
Overdue projects completed and handed in
Preparing for Systemics (Grade 3 and 6)
Bridging activities (working with learners who’ve not reached their Grade level)
Filing of scripts and task rubrics (getting portfolios ready for Term 4)
Math and Literacy
Script Analysis (discussing pitfalls and recommendations for improvements)
Textbook checks
Physical Education
Preparing the classrooms for Term 4
Fun activities to strengthen bonding among peers (to alleviate bullying)
Preparation for Quarterly Awards
Marks cannot be awarded; for projects not handed in or Tests that were not written, by a learner. Educators have a tremendous task in eliciting work from learners. Many parents are aware of their children’s misdemeanours, but turn a blind eye, unreasonably confront the educator, encouraging learners NOT to do consolidation, complete the work for the child (as the learner refuses to comply) and continues to promote absenteeism, without a reason.
Should this be the case, please assist your child’s educator with the intended achievement you wish your child to acquire at year end. Motivate and cultivate thoughts for short- and long-term academic goals that your child can aspire towards.
We encourage our parents and learners to focus on the end result. With one more term approaching to end off the year 2025, the staff and I are imploring that parent take charge with their child’s conduct and accountability.
Yours in Education
