Dear Parents / Guardians

NOTICE OF BUDGET MEETING

You are hereby invited to attend our Annual Budget Meeting (30 Day Notice) to be held on 30^th October 2025 at 19h00 in the school hall.  The proposed budget and school fees for 2026 will be presented.

The Budget will need to be approved by a quorum of 10% to reach consensus. Should this criterion not be met, a second meeting will be held of which notice will be forwarded, detailing the dates and times. The voting and decisions taken will be binding on all Parents/Guardians. Current school fees for Grade R is R9400.00 and Grade 1 – 7 is R6500.00 per annum.

A copy of the draft budget, together with explanatory document, will be available for inspection and for the input of parents from 16^th October 2025 in consultation with the Principal, Teaching staff and the School Governing Body (14 days prior to the meeting). Any questions may be emailed to bursar@yorkroadprimary.co.za.

Financial assistance is available to parents who qualify according to the criteria and regulations set out in the South African Schools Act (Government Gazette 29311 of 18 October 2006). Any parent is entitled to apply for financial assistance. The applications will then be addressed according to the criteria set out in the South Africans Schools Act. Further information can be obtained from the bursar at school.

The agenda for the meeting will be as follows:

1. Welcome;
2. Acceptance of minutes of previous Budget meeting held on the 14^th November 2024;
3. Message from the SGB Chairperson;
4. Presentation of current school fees and proposed school fees for 2026 (where applicable) and approval thereof;
5. School fee exemption procedures and applications (where applicable);
6. Additional remuneration of WCED employees (SASA, Section 38(A)). Budget school governing Body posts– CS and Non-CS educators – the Budget; and
7. Motion – Presentation and approval of the proposed budget.

Parents/Guardians are requested to please attend the meeting to approve the Budget for the 2026 financial year.
