Circular 06/2025

We are currently nearing the conclusion of the Third Term, with the Foundation Phase and Intersen Phase examinations ending soon.

Please be mindful of the following:

Dismissal times

Absenteeism

  • Many learners have been absent during the examination, due to illness. The class teacher should receive written notification on the day and a doctor’s certificate, before or when the learner returns to school.
  • Requests for early dismissal, during the examination period, may be rejected based on reasons provided by the requester. Teachers use time after testing to collect outstanding tasks and projects and focus on the revision for upcoming tests.  Many learners do not study and these interventions are crucial.

Community guidelines

  • We have very considerate neighbours surrounding our school. These community members have supported York Road Primary for years.  Many may argue that they have chosen to live close to a school and should accept the “chaos” attached.  These unkind notions will not be entertained.
  • Please avoid the current observations reported to the school management:
    1. Excessive hooting
    2. Illegal parking
    3. Revving of engines
    4. Disrespecting anyone
    5. Physical confrontations
    6. Use of foul language and “flipping off”
    7. Inconsiderate actions

16 June 2025
Youth Day is celebrated on Monday, 16 June 2025.  The school will be closed, as this is a public holiday.

Be kind. Do Good!

Mr. M C Johnson
(Principal)
